25.Internet

The internet is a global network of interconnected computer networks that use standardized communication protocols to connect devices and facilitate the exchange of data and information across vast geographical distances. It is a decentralized and distributed network infrastructure that allows billions of devices, including computers, smartphones, servers, routers, and other digital devices, to communicate and interact with each other.



26.Domains

Domains, in the context of the internet, refer to human-readable names that correspond to specific IP addresses. They are used to identify websites, servers, and other resources on the internet.



27.Hypertext

Hypertext is a concept that refers to text with embedded links that allow users to navigate between related pieces of information non-sequentially. It is a fundamental concept underlying the World Wide Web (WWW) and modern web browsing.



28.Protocols

Protocols in the context of computer networking refer to a set of rules, standards, and conventions that govern the communication and data exchange between devices and systems over a network. These protocols ensure that devices can communicate effectively and understand each other's messages



29.Adress

An address in this context typically refers to an identifier used to uniquely identify a device or resource on a network.

The most common adresses types:

  • IP Adress
  • MAC Adress
  • URL
  • Email Adress
  • Physical Adress

30.Internet services:

Internet services refer to the various applications, platforms, and functionalities that are accessible to users over the internet. These services facilitate communication, collaboration, information sharing, entertainment, commerce, and more.

Some of these services are:

  1. Surf or search for information: In the internet you can find any type of websides in where you can findnews, videogames, tools, etc...

  2. Electronic mail: Is a method of exchanging digital messages between users over the internet or other computer networks. It allows individuals and organizations to send and receive messages quickly and efficiently, regardless of geographic location

  3. Chat:Refers to a real-time, text-based conversation between two or more users over the internet or a computer network. It allows individuals to exchange messages instantly, typically through a chat application, messaging platform, or chat room.

  4. Telnet:Is a network protocol used for accessing and managing remote computers or devices over a network. It allows a user to establish a terminal session with a remote host, typically a server or networking device, and interact with it as if they were physically present at the remote location.

  5. File Transfer Protocol (FTP):File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used for transferring files between a client and a server on a computer network, typically the internet. It provides a way to upload, download, and manage files on remote servers.

  6. Word Wide Web (WWW): The World Wide Web (WWW), commonly referred to as the web, is a global information system that allows users to access and interact with a vast array of interconnected documents and resources over the internet.

30.TCP/IP:

TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) is a suite of networking protocols that form the basis of communication on the internet and many other computer networks

Some of its main characteristics are:

  • TCP/IP is a protocol suite consisting of multiple protocols that work together to enable communication and data exchange between devices
  • TCP/IP uses packet switching, a method of data transmission where data is broken down into packets (small units) for efficient routing and delivery.
  • TCP/IP uses IP addresses to uniquely identify devices on a network. IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4) uses 32-bit addresses in the format xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (e.g., 192.168.1.1), while IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) uses 128-bit addresses in hexadecimal format (e.g., 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334).
  • TCP provides connection-oriented communication with features like handshake, acknowledgment, and data retransmission for reliable data delivery.

31.- Requirements for Internet connection: 
  1. Connection Forms: There are several forms of connection to the internet, each with its own characteristics, advantages, and limitations as:
                -Wired Connections: network connections that use physical cables to transmit data                   between devices. These connections offer several advantages, including reliability,                   stability, and consistent speeds.
                -Wireless Connections: network connections that use radio waves or infrared signals                   to transmit data between devices without physical cables. These connections offer                   flexibility, mobility, and convenience, allowing devices to connect to networks and                   the internet wirelessly
                 -Ethernet connection: wired network connection that uses Ethernet cables to                          transmit data between devices. It is one of the most common and widely used                          methods of networking, providing reliable and high-speed data transmission in                      various environments such as homes, offices, data centers, and enterprise                                 networks.
               -Hybrid Connections: combine different connection types to achieve redundancy,                    load balancing, or increased bandwidth

    2.Suppliers:
    
Suppliers of internet connections, also known as Internet Service Providers (ISPs), are                           companies or organizations that provide access to the internet for individuals, businesses,        and        other entities. These suppliers offer various types of internet connections, such as            broadband,     fiber-optic, cable, DSL (Digital Subscriber Line), satellite, and wireless                    connections. ISPs     play a crucial role in facilitating internet access by delivering data packets     between users and the        global network of interconnected servers and devices that make up     the internet.

    3.Access types:
    methods or technologies through which individuals, businesses, and devices can connect to     the            global network of interconnected computers and servers that make up the internet.
    A example is the Broadband Internet; refers to high-speed internet access that allows for  faster        data transmission compared to traditional dial-up connections. It enables users to access a wide range     of online services, applications, and content with greater speed and efficiency.

    4.Access software: For obviously reasons you need to get access to a compatible software to the internet functions, nowdays is almost impossible to find devices without those functions

    5.Hardware: Finally you need a physically device that can make a connection to the internet like a ccomputer, cellphone, a smart tv, etc
